Israeli soldiers attack aid flotilla

Israel should rot in hell and all the Zionists can go with it.

Although I haven't posted much about it here, I am fairly passionate about the Gaza situation, but this is the first thing to happen this year which has really made me angry instead of just downright depressed.

As you may or may not know, Israel has put up a blockade in Gaza, preventing many materials from entering or leaving the country. They say this blockade is to prevent violence and terrorism in Gaza, but basic materials such as foodstuffs, coffee and construction materials are also prohibited. Construction in Gaza, or expansion on a property, is prohibited without a permit. Israel only gives out a few permits, and seldom to Gazans due to bias in the system. Forgoing the roles and building without a permit can result in your house being steamrolled (by bulldozers shipped to Israel from Australia) or taken by the IDF.

The situation angered some Europeans so much that they put together some materials and went off on a flotilla to give them to Gaza. Unfortunately, the IDF caught up and opened fire with machine guns and gas grenades, despite the flotilla having raised a white flag, and the ship being in international waters, outside of IDF jurisdiction (although at current Israel plans to expand its maritime claims to 70km from its current 20km from shore). At current, 16 are dead and 30 wounded, all civilians. The IDF claims that they were attacked with knives, but it's clear that they are either lying or taking the civilians' frightened acts of self-defense and using them as an excuse to kill.

There is really nothing I can say about this that isn't already apparent. How can people stand back and ignore these atrocities happening, or claim that any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism?
As a state, Israel has no right to exist, and it is time that someone stage an intervention to stop the holocaust in Gaza. Unfortunately the US' staunch defense of Israel would make large-scale action difficult, so it is up to small organisations - such as those shot dead today in international waters - to spread awareness and help the people of Palestine break free from their oppression.

Your opening line seems somewhat extreme.

Or the second line is anti-climactic.
