It's strange that now people are starting to see all the shit the government's doing. The news reports the proposed introduction of those damned stop-and-search laws, and the letters to the editor are flooded with cries to give compensation to the family of Mr Ward (an Aboriginal man who died in the back of a police van. Safety measures were not taken and he was slowly cooked to death in the blazing outback heat. This has happened again recently, as well.)
According to the West Australian, which I don't often cite because it's a crock of shit, several thousand complaints have been sent in to wherever people complain about racism. There are tales of African and Aboriginal people being consistently followed by security upon entering a shopping complex, and Muslim women having their hijabs ripped off of them. What a sad state we live in. Honestly, I never was proud to call myself Australian but you people are really toeing the line here. I swear I'm going to move to Canada as soon as I can fund it. It may not be perfect, but it's better than this shithole.
